Rodri J. Rodriguez, producer MARIACHI USA

Mariachi USA

We are beyond excited to bring this Talent Search to fruition. It is a project that has been stewing for quite some and thanks toit is now a reality.  I love fostering new talent and giving them a platform to share their voice with so many adoring mariachi fans.  The inspirational credit for this project lies in the countless students that have masterfully studied Mariachi music.

Our Talent Search is not just another talent competition, it’s carrying on the tradition of mariachi music and it’s fervent expression of a rich culture and its people.

We have selected three judges whose individual success and dedication to Mariachi music speaks for itself, all role models for our contestants.  We are grateful for their time, energy and expertise offered.

A bit of vital history; the very first Mariachi festival in the US was created over 50 years ago by a Texana, a music educator, Belle Ortiz, whose limitless love for Mariachi also drove her to create Texas’ iconic Mariachi Campanas de America. Often singlehandedly, Belle has spearheaded Mariachi music education to where it now enjoys  its rightful place at all levels of education from K1 to University Masters programs throughout  the United Sates.

It is in the spirit of this true Godmother of Mariachi Education that we have named the Belle Grand Prize which our 1st prize contestant will receive!

Que Viva Belle y  Que Viva Por Siempre El Mariachi!
